Can I hook up the Rocketfish wireless surround sound to my sony ct 100 soundbar?
The problem is that the Rocketfish system, uses speaker wire ports. and the CT100 has only HDMI and audio input/output ports.
I heard that you can change speaker wire to audio ports. But how would you do this? And also. would it even work with a soundbar?
Answer 1:
This would not work with a soundbar. Why do you need it to be wireless? It is supposed to sit right under your television.
I have an hd tv and I want to know about wireless surround sound.?
I want to know much it costs, the different pieces, and any extra cables needed.
Answer 1:
Wireless surround sound systems work fine by transmitting audio signals to the individual speakers via multi-radio frequency transmitter.
Wireless speaker systems can be a bit misleading though.
Just because actual speaker wires are not needed, remember these types of speakers require a power source to operate.
(Wireless speakers are referred to as an active system due to the intergrated electronics. Wired speakers are referred to as a passive system.)
Just because you're not required to run speaker wire to each individual enclosure, it may not be convenient to run AC power to each speaker for its proper location to recreate an accurate sound field.
Bottom line, think about if you want to run smaller speaker wire or AC extension cords.
Answer 2:
The current issue of "Home Theater" magazine has a round up of wireless speakers and systems. I have it, but have not had a chance to read it. But it should be in the stores now so run out and get a copy.

http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/Produ...Is there a completely wireless surround sound, home theater, system on the market?
There are plenty of rear speaker, wireless systems on the market does any manufacturer make a wireless or bluetooth system? I am looking for all 5 speakers to be wire free..
Answer 1:
Weather or not there is would be a moot point, because wireless speakers are a tremendously bad idea!
1) If the speakers ARE truly wireless, then you need to constantly feed batteries to each speaker to power the individual amplifiers, at GREAT eventual cost to you!
2) If they are externally powered, then they need to be plugged in, so there goes your "completely wireless" system to begin with.
3) Have you ever talked on a cordless phone while walking through the house, only to find the 1 spot where the sound quality dropped dramatically? Well, wireless speakers run on the same frequencies and the more signals you flood your house with, the more likely you are to create frequency interference, thus, poor sound quality.
4) Wireless signals are normally frequency clipped (highs and lows eliminated) to save bandwidth, which makes for a very efficient transmission of signals, but very poor audio quality......
I could go on and on. but the simple answer is, I am sure there are "completely wireless home theater systems" out there, but you will NOT be pleased with them, even the BEST quality system will be inferior to a moderate quality wired system!
Hope this helps you make a decision!

What are the disadvantages of wireless surround sound speakers?
Timing.
The delay of the signal. Some Older receivers had a setting to work with them. However the disadvantages had most company to take this setting out as it suggested their product had lower standards.
Amplification.
Wireless system have under powered amps. They are also not as accurate. A Receiver manufacturer spends thousand of dollars on research. Some go as far as paying outside company to evaluate their equipment. IE THX,
Not Really Wireless
They Still need power. You have to find an outlet and run power to the small unit that receives the signal and then run speaker wire.
