What is the best home theater system there is in the market?
I am planning to buy a home theater system for my new house. I want nothing fancy but I want to get a good quality system and worth the price. Thanks!
Answer 1:
The Onkyo HT-S9100THX is a very nice all-in-one system. To go above that would be to get separate components and you'll be doubling or tripling the price.
Something like a Klipsch RF-52 system and a decent receiver, like an Onkyo TX-SR706 or Denon AVR2808, would probably cost close to $3000 or so.

Setting a budget you can afford and then doing a little due diligence is your first step towards finding your best home theater system. I think Yamaha rx-v361 is good. This not only has excellent Yamaha quality, but it also has a boat load of features, high sound quality, high picture quality, surround realism. This receiver sounds really awesome and you can hook up all your stuff to it like your DVD player or your game systems. Personal choice is what it's all about. The best home theater system on the market, taken literally, will set you back thousands upon thousands of dollars however, choose what's best for you and your budget.

Can i use an home theater system instead of an electric guitar amp?
I want to buy an guitar but i don't want to spend money on an amp.Can you tell me if i can connect the electric guitar to a home theater system or i need a amp?
Answer 1:
You could, but you would also need some kind of guitar pre-amp.
You'd have to connect the guitar through some kind of small pre-amp and connect the output to the home theatre!
The pre amp is needed to amplify the very weak signals from the guitar output, and also to allow you to change the sound of the guitar a bit if you wanted.
Answer 2:
Im thinking the same and i need alot of help! i have a boss Me-20 effects processor and im not sure where to plug in my RCA cablle from gutiar? help please!

Answer 3:
well you can use a home theater system as a SUBSTITUTE for an amp. but you can get only a clean tone from it... the quality of sound will depend on your system. also if u want distortion you can connect it to a processor eg. zoom connecting the guitar on the input and the output of the processor to the input of the home theater system. for that purpose u will probably have to buy a converter that can convert ur guitar cables end to be able to connect to the jack of the home theater system.
Answer 4:
There are ways to get your guitar to come out of your home theatre, but it will sound like crap and potentially destroy your system.
Besides, half of your guitar tone is your amp. You can get a practice amp for around $100 new, or check craigslist for used ones.
Answer 5:
Dude, go to Radio Shack....they have a cord that is an adapter that changes from the guitar male end to (2) RCA's....simply plug it into your RCA input jacks on your stereo....I did this for about a year before I finally got the money for an amp.
It only costs about $4.
What is a amplifier in your home theater for?
I'm interested in upgrading to a very good home theater and I know a lot of what too look for in Receivers but what exactly is a Amplifier for in your home theater system?? And how do you hook one up?
Answer 1:
Every AV receiver has multiple amplifiers inside. An amplifier simply takes the low voltage signal coming out of a source (like a CD player, or a cable box) and turns it into a different higher voltage that makes speakers do what they need to do, and that is "move air" to make sound.
So if you get a good AV receiver, you won't need any separate amplifiers. Unless you want to go all audiophile with your bad self. Some people buy a good AV receiver and never use the internal amplifiers, they only use the receivers as pre-amplifiers (as a surround sound decoder) and send every channel out of the pre-amp side to separate outboard dedicated amplifiers. They think this sounds better.
They are doofy. They are no longer enjoying the movie and are all caught up in "how it sounds." Great. As in, "Hey, that's great there... hope you're having a good time."
Meanwhile, you, the smarter of the two, has found an AV receiver that fits your budget and is already having a great time enjoying the movies and music, while the other dude is still tweaking around with his amplifiers.
Answer 2:
Most receivers have amps (amplification) built-in. This can lead to some distortion from heat and interference.
High end receivers are pre-amps. They draw power from a separate amp. This gives you cleaner sound, and often access to more power (watts).
You could even get a separate amp for each Chanel (i.e. 7 amps to power a Dolby 6.1 pre-amp receiver.
Plus it looks cool to have all those amps!
Answer 3:
First off Rod I don't like the insinuation that since I have a separates system that I am doofey!
But in general the other posts are correct. A receiver is a amp for speakers.
The Right SYSTEM dependent of the speakers and other components will require the kind of power a discrete amp can provide.
But a great system can be had with the right speakers, receiver and source devices.
Make sure to set a budget, audition everything you want to get with what you already have, and make sure to use good interconnects ( my 10% rulle works every time) protect your investment with a power conditoner and have fun!!
Answer 4:
Well the amplifier is what drives the speakers. Aka makes the signal from your sources loud enough to be heard. Now most of you entry to even some high end home theater receivers have integrated amps in them so all you need to do is hook up your speakers to it and configure it. The higher end systems will have a pre-amp to process the sound and then send it to the amp. If your looking for a good home theater system go to a CEDIA (Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association) dealer www.cedia.net , they will help you find what your looking for.
Answer 5:
Hi there.A Receiver is an Amplifier in your home theater .A Receiver is made up of three sections: Tuner,Preamplifier Processor, and a number of Power Amplifiers .All these together in the one unit are called a Receiver. You can also purchase the three components separately which usually gives you a better quality sound from your speakers. In any audio system the signal is passed down a chain.Sound travels from the Source components (DVD or CD player,VCR, Satellite etc.) to the Surround Sound Processing Preamplifier also known as the Control Preamplifier. Audio and Video signals are sent to the Preamp which selects the input source (picking which source you want to listen to or watch.) processes the sound and controls the amount of power the Power Amplifiers give to the speakers. The surround processor that is built into the Preamp.takes the audio signals from the Source components (DVD,CD Player, VCR, Satellite etc.) and directs them to the appropriate Power Amplifiers.Any small error by the Preamp.,such as noise, distortion,or harshness, will be multiplied when the Power Amplifiers make a bigger copy and send it to the Speakers.Preamplifiers are the heart of the system.
The Power Amplifiers receive the signals that are sent to them, make a larger copy and send them to the speakers where they are reproduced as sound.Simply the amplifiers control the speakers.
There are a variety of Surround Receivers on the market, however they are all limited by the use of one power supply. That one power supply must power the AM/FM Tuner, the Preamplifier section and amplification of 7 or more channels. The classic case of trying to do too much in one box.If you want High Fidelity sound with your video ,a Receiver is not the way to go.A separate Surround Sound Preamplifier and 5 or more individual Power Amplifiers each with its own power supply will give you what is not possible with a Receiver, but naturally at a higher cost.
If you decide on a Receiver, then make sure it has a good solid power supply. Check that it has discrete output amplifier sections. And make sure it is easy to operate. If you can't walk up to it and work basic functions without reading the manual, don't buy it. I hope this has been of some help to you and that i explained it to you in an uncomplicated manner
What kind of home theater system should i purchase?
I currently have a samsung (HCN653W) TV and am looking for a home theater system to hook up to it. I am looking for a system that is around $500. This should include the receiver and speakers. I only want it to be Dolby 5.1 and want to be able to hook up a dvd player, my tv, and possibly a blu-ray player for the future. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Answer 1:
Ugh! That thing is huge! I had to really dig for a pic of it & find it's specs. Anyway, at best it's highest resolution is 1080i. It's actually outdated by a couple of years. My recommendation is the link below. It gives you everything you asked for including Blu-ray. It should work well w/ your TV. It's twice of what you wanted in your budget, but in this day & age these toys are getting more expensive. $500 would not have given you anything decent in terms of quality. Shop around a bit & see if you can't find that system at a better price. I do recommend you buy from these folks b/c they back up everything they sell 100%. I order from them all the time. Even if I find an item at a better price elsewhere. Their customer service & shipping speed is hard to beat. G'luck!
Answer 2:
I'm really not a fan of all in one HT systems. You will get far better sound, and connectivity, from a system where your receiver, disc player, and speakers were all separate, and best, if their brands were not all the same.
Not all good speaker makers make receivers, and not all good receiver makers make either any speakers, or good ones.
One really good 5.1 speaker set is the Polk 6750 system, list for about $600, available for around $200-$250 online.
A good brand for a lower cost receiver is Onkyo. There are good deals on or through amazon.com, take a look.
Answer 3:
I recommend Panasonic SC-PT960 Home Theater Audio System.it is an outstanding sound system.
This one:
